Warren County Sidewalk Improvement Projects Scheduled to Begin in Warrenton

HANNIBAL – Weather permitting, the week of November 20, contractor crews will start work on a sidewalk improvement project on Missouri Route 47 in Warrenton from Veterans Memorial Parkway to East Walton Street.
Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures throughout the project. Weather permitting, there will be a scheduled closure at East Walton Street as early as mid-December lasting approximately two weeks. All work is weather dependent and may be halted for winter weather.

Workers will be present during daytime hours and motorists can anticipate minor traffic impacts on sidewalks and driveways. This work is being completed as part of MoDOT’s initiative for compliance with the current standards of the American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA).

This contract also includes sidewalk improvement projects in Warren County located on Route J in Wright City and Interstate 70 North Outer Road in Wright City as well as Montgomery County, located on Missouri Route 19 and Missouri Route 161 in Montgomery City, Missouri Route 161 in Middletown and Route CC and Route ZZ in Wellsville.

We ask that motorists please be attentive in work zones for their safety and the safety of highway workers. Signs and message boards will be in place to alert motorists, as schedule changes occur.

The contract for these projects was awarded earlier this year to S&A Equipment & Builders, LLC of Fulton, Missouri in the amount of $1,263,114.90.

Work with us in the work zone! Please remember to obey all work zone signs and personnel. With an increased number of highway work zones in Missouri, we urge all drivers to pay attention every second while driving, especially through a work zone. Be informed of your route by checking the MoDOT Traveler Information Map before you leave to see if you will encounter any work zones.
