The 2nd Annual Augusta Arts Camp held at the Harmonie-Verein (American Legion Hall) in Augusta, MO ran during the week of June 25-29, 2018.
Forty-two campers and counselors explored a variety of Arts: photography; yoga; culinary; glass blowing; word working; ceramics, theater; music and drumming; copper working; and graphic design. Campers also enjoyed several field trips that highlighted local artists and their art.
Each camper had their own gallery which displayed the artwork they created during the week. Parents/guardians were able to view these masterpieces on the last day of camp. This year the whole camp worked together on a mural that was revealed on the last day of camp. This collaborative project was a spectacular wall display of hand crafted, painted and designed feathers that created a magnificent backdrop for professional photos to be taken of each camper.
Founders of the Augusta Arts Camp are Ann-Renee Gargrave and Marcie Mathes, who is also the Camp Program Director. Plans are already underway for another amazing week of art exploration during Augusta Arts Camp 2019.
