FHSD is proud to announce the launch of the District’s new mobile app. The app is designed to enable parents, staff, students, and the larger community to stay informed and up-to-date on important issues, information, and activities happening in our schools.
The free app displays the FHSD logo and content, and can be downloaded in the Apple App Store and Google Play, just search for “Francis Howell.”
Analytics show that now two out of every three people who access the District’s online information do so from a mobile device. This will make it faster and easier for members of the FHSD community to access what they need including news, calendars, menus, staff directories, push notifications, and more.
“Our new mobile app empowers everyone to stay connected and up-to-date on the information that they want and need directly from their mobile device,” said Chief Communications Officer Matt Deichmann. “We are excited about how our new app will help us communicate more effectively, and hope it leads to a stronger, more connected school community overall.”
Developed in partnership with West Corporation, the new app is highly secure and flexible, and is built on a communication platform that permits the District to manage and share content easily. FHSD was able to partner with West to deliver this affordable new communication channel, and the company will manage hosting and technical updates, as well as provide 24/7 support.
“We look forward to continuing to work with Francis Howell to help reach its goals for effective and accessible communications throughout the entire school community,” said Nate Brogan, senior vice president of West Education group. “Parents today are busier than ever and rely on their mobile devices to connect them to the information that matters most. The app allows schools and community members to stay connected through a robust mobile platform that will continue to evolve based on their needs.”
The mobile app is a result of the District’s “Future Focused” strategic planning efforts. The Engaged Family and Community Partnerships Committee has identified a mobile app as a priority strategy as FHSD explores “new ways to engage, communicate, and collaborate with families and the community.” Welcome to the new Francis Howell mobile app, where all of the information you need is at your fingertips – literally!
