Four students from the Augusta community received $500 scholarships on Sunday, May 5, 2019, from the Greater Augusta Chamber of Commerce. The scholarships were presented at the Augusta Plein Air Art Festival Final Sale and Awards Ceremony at Mt. Pleasant Estates. Proceeds from the art festival help to fund scholarships for local students who live within the Augusta Fire Protection District.
The 2019 scholarship recipients were Olivia Diederich, Alan Wheeler, Jolie Newman and Brady Hindersmann. Olivia Diederich is studying Animal Science at the University of Missouri, Columbia. Brady Hindersmann is working towards a BS in Civil Engineering, also at MU, Columbia. The Greater Augusta Chamber of Commerce thanks all the students who applied and wishes them well in their educational endeavors. The chamber also appreciates everyone who supports the Augusta Plein Air Art Festival each year, making it possible for the chamber to help area youth achieve their educational goals.
