Tammy Goebel


Tammy L. Goebel (née Kleine) of Wright City, Missouri, passed away on May 9, 2024, at the age of 60.

She was the beloved wife of David Goebel. Tammy is survived by her son, Travis (Heather) Goebel of Washington, MO; two daughters, Sarah (Margo) Goebel of Wilmington, DE, and Jenny Goebel of Washington, MO; sister, Nancy (Todd) Overstreet of Augusta, MO; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Kleine; mother, Ruth Ann Kleine (née: Hemsath); grandparents, Andrew and Louella Maschmeier, Waldo and Elsie Hemsath; father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Anna Goebel.

Tammy was born on January 31, 1964, in Washington, Missouri. Tammy grew up in Augusta and lived in the rural Wright City area. In her youth, she was active in 4H and was a former FFA state officer. Tammy showed steers at the St. Charles County Fair (Reserve Grand Champion 1981) & Washington Town & Country Fair. She graduated from Washington High School in 1982. After High School, she went to East Central College and graduated in 1984 with an AAS Degree in Agribusiness. Tammy and David were married on October 4, 1986, and from this union, three children were born; Travis, Jenny, and Sarah. Tammy worked in telecommunications and real estate and retired from Investors Title Co. as an Escrow Officer. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington, Missouri. She was a loving wife to Dave, a loving mother and a loving “GiGi” to her grandchildren.

Tammy never knew a stranger and was always willing to pitch in and lend a helping hand. She loved cooking, dancing, Christmas, getting together with friends, and traveling with Dave. Tammy was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation: Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 2 to 8 p.m. and at Pitman Funeral Home, 1545 Wentzville Pkwy, Wentzville, MO 63385 and Friday, May 17, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church-Washington, 214 W 5th Street, Washington, MO 63090.
