Esther B. Schwede asleep in Jesus on May 17, 2021 at the age of 97.

She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond F. Schwede of New Melle, Missouri. She is survived by her son, Stan (Diane) Schwede of Saint Charles, MO; daughter, Dorleen Reichgert of Spanish Lake, MO; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Schwede of New Melle, MO; nine grandchildren, Todd (Kim) Reichgert, Chris Reichgert, Vicki (George) Dunn, Traci Schwede, Jeff Schwede, Kristin (Gene) Bailey, Shad Schwede, Jennifer (Kenny) Regot, Amanda (Matt) Mack; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, John H. Schlueter; mother, Dora W. Schlueter nee Klausmeier; son, Roger Schwede; son-in-law, Frank Reichgert; brothers, Edgar, Henry, Harvey, Arlie, Victor, and Johnny Schlueter; and sister, Elsie Twellman. Esther was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was involved with Ladies Aid and taught Sunday School for over 30 years. She loved quilting and playing Bingo. Esther was always known as a polite, caring friend and neighbor who made the best fried chicken around! She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation: Sunday, May 23, 2 to 6 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, 1545 Wentzville Parkway, Wentzville Missouri, 63385. Funeral: Monday, May 24, 2021, 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, New Melle, MO with interment in the church cemetery.
