Margie J. Heman peacefully passed away on September 12, 2021, at the age of 81 years.

She is survived by her brother, Maynard Heman, her nieces and nephews, Max and Wanda Bade, Kent and Wanda Bade, Joyce and Pat Couch, Judy and Don Hoeft, Denise and Gary Stewart, Karen and Skip LaRue, Lynette Heman, 10 great-nieces and nephews, 19 great-great nieces and nephews, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elvin and Clara Heman, her sister and brother-in-law, Walt and Darleen Bade, and her sisters-in-law, Ruth Heman and Ida Mae Heman. 

Margie was a lifelong devoted member of the United Church of Christ in Femme Osage as well as a lifelong member of the community until a few months ago when she moved to Homestead in Washington. She lived her entire life on the farm where she was born and raised. She was very devoted to her parents, as well as her brother, sister, in-laws, and nieces and nephews. Never did a birthday go by without a heartfelt special card from Margie. 

Margie’s commitment to her church was admirable. She served as Secretary for many years, taught Sunday School, and participated in and organized many social events for the church. Her devotion was selfless and done with a service-filled heart. 

Margie worked for 47 years at First Bank in Dutzow and enjoyed her co-workers and customers. She took great pride in providing efficient service. Somewhere along the way Margie became very interested in growing roses and won gardening awards for her nurturing efforts. 

Written words would not be complete without mentioning Margie’s passion for baseball and basketball. She’d even watch repeats of games!! She played basketball in high school and often commented on how much the rules had changed and swore that today’s basketball players sure seemed to “travel” a lot…according to her high school rules. Of course, the Cardinals were her favorite baseball team and at any given time she could tell you who was on the injured list, what place they were in, and the date and time of the next game. 

Visitation: Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, 10 - 11 a.m. with service immediately following at 11 a.m. at Femme Osage UCC, 4360 Cappeln Osage Rd, Augusta, MO. Interment in the church cemetery.
