Melba C. McCarver passed away on August 1, 2022, at Breeze Park, in St. Charles, at the age of 94.
She is survived by her two sons, Steven D. McCarver of Wentzville and Thomas E. McCarver of Spartanburg, SC; brother, Bernard Wilmer of Wentzville; grandchildren, Dylan Lemons, Faith Lemons, Adam Cepeda and Amber Olson; five great-grandchildren, Ethen, Ava Jo, and Adalyn McCarver, John, Clara, and Grayson Jayne; friend, Gail Haake Schellert; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Edwin H. Wilmer; her mother, Alma H. Wilmer; and her son, Michael D. McCarver.
Melba was Baptized and Confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wentzville, MO. She graduated from the Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in 1949 and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing at the University of MO—Columbia in 1957. Melba also operated a successful photo studio in Wentzville from 1962-1999. She moved to Breeze Park Retirement Campus in 2004. A long-time member of LWML at Immanuel and Breeze Park. Melba was a member of the Eleven Years of Nursing and an instructor at Deaconess Hospital, St. Louis. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation and Funeral: Saturday, August 6, 2022, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and the funeral immediately following visitation at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 632 E. Highway N, Wentzville, MO.
Burial: South Linn Lutheran Cemetery, Wentzville, MO.
