Beloved wife of the late Harold A. Maassen, Margaret is survived by six children, Mary Maassen, JoAnn May (Martin), David Maassen (Debbie), Kay Maassen, Kevin Maassen (Tammy) and Richard Maassen (Teri.) Margaret is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 36 great-great-grandchildren. In addition, Margaret is survived by sisters-in-law Linda Maassen and Marci Maassen and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brothers, Alphonse and August Thoenen; sisters, Catherine (Thoenen) Sampson and Marie (Thoenen) Dirnberger.
Margaret traveled extensively throughout the world, living in several foreign countries due to her husband's job. They returned to Missouri in retirement to spend time with family and friends. Margaret was always ready for a card game, especially pinochle or a good game of Mahjong, as well as reading a good book. Margaret was a long-term member of St. Robert’s Bellarmine Catholic Church in St. Charles, MO.

Interment: Friday, February 10, 2023, Immaculate Heart of Mary – New Melle, 8 Hwy D, New Melle, MO 63365
