Bernice Louise Horstmeier (nee Echelmeier), of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023, at the age of 91.

Beloved wife of the late Vernon Horstmeier; cherished daughter of the late Theodore and Martha Echelmeier; devoted mother of Judy Horstmeier and Debbie (Rick) Miget; loving grandmother of Eric (Heidi) Miget and Katie (Steve) LeGrand; treasured great-grandmother Jack LeGrand, Will Miget, Tyler LeGrand, James Miget, Lexi LeGrand and Luke Miget; dear sister of Marion (Ken) Chrismer, Marilyn (Gerry) Ochs and the late Vernon (Mary Ann survives) Echelmeier.

Bernice was married to her husband Vernon for 61 years before his passing. She was a homemaker for most of her life and a very active member of Friedens U.C.C. (St. Charles), participating in women’s guild, choir and Sunday School. Bernice enjoyed making quilts, camping and playing the organ. She had a real knack for music, often singing for weddings at Friedens. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, friends and especially her great-grandchildren.

Bernice was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
