Orville James Rohe of Marthasville, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023 in Creve Coeur, Missouri. He was born in Washington, Missouri in 1940, to Herbert Rohe and wife Olivia nee Borgerding.
Orville was married to Sandra Berg, October 27, 1972. This union was blessed with two sons, they enjoyed 50 years of marriage.
Orville enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports (especially the St. Louis Cardinals), and doing word search puzzles. In earlier years, he played slow-pitch softball, bowled, and pitched horseshoes. He coached little league baseball for his sons, and enjoyed spending time with family. He especially enjoyed teasing the children and grandchildren. He was a member of St. Paul’s UCC, Marthasville, a lifetime member of the Hummingbird Club, Washington, and a proud 50-plus year member of Carpenters District Council Local 1839.
He is survived by his wife Sandra; two sons, Curt of St. Louis, and Nick of Marthasville; two grandsons, Hunter and Pacey; two sisters, Rose Strubberg of Washington, Anacleta (Maurice) Frick of Washington; one brother, Tony Rohe (Sally) of Marthasville; sister-in-law Sue Berg of Marthasville; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Orville was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Charlene nee Hoeft of Holstein; two sisters, Shirley Haddox, Rita Struebbe; two brothers-in-law, Terry Struebbe and Melvin Strubberg; his father- and mother-in-law, Cornelius and Hertha (nee Hinnah) Berg.
Visitation: St. Paul’s UCC, Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., with a memorial service immediately following. A private internment will be at St. Paul’s UCC Cemetery.
