Betty Lou (Etherington) Boyd

Heaven gained another angel the morning of March 1st, 2023 when Betty Lou Boyd was called home to be with our Lord for the rest of eternity. She passed away in her home with her husband, Robert Boyd, of 59 years, by her side.
Betty Boyd.jpgBetty was born in 1942, to Earl and Dorothy Etherington (Dalton) of Southwest Iowa, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother, Lee Etherington; children, Christopher (Crystal), Stacey (Chris) and Amanda; grandchildren, Samantha Hawkins (Jamie), Ashley Matthews (Bobby), Megan Rogers (Eric), Chase Linhares, Madison Linhares, Henry Linhares, Annabella Pinkham, Alice Pinkham, Krista, and Bridget and seven great-grandchildren.

Betty was a social butterfly who never knew a stranger. She always kept up with everyone's lives and made sure all knew how important they were to her. Betty had her real estate license and enjoyed being a realtor for a number of years. Working first for Ira E. Berry and Coldwell Banker. She had a strong faith, Bob and Betty have been members of The Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in New Melle for 28 years. Betty volunteered when able, delivering meals on wheels.

For family vacations, Betty loved traveling with her husband and children. Road tripping across the country in their large white van was a favorite pastime. Betty traveled to all 50 states in addition to international travel. Her community in San Benito, Texas, Fun N Sun, was their winter home for 18 years.

We will miss her warm smile and know that now she is smiling and watching over us from above.
