Michael graduated from Washington High School, class of 2013, where he loved spending time with his team on the roller hockey rink. After graduating, he enrolled and attended KU and Missouri S&T, where he sought a degree in Geological Engineering. At Missouri S&T, he was very involved with his Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity and loved leading the team in the annual St. Pat's competitions and traditions. Some of his favorites were carving the team Cudgel and toting it around campus to the Snake Pits, most notably in 2017 and 2018, when they took 1st place in the competitions.
Michael was a gentle, kind soul with an infectious smile, and anyone who met him was drawn to him, evident by how his cousins adored him and flocked to him at family gatherings. He loved playing his guitar (self-taught) and hanging with his four-legged fur-baby pup. When Michael wasn't doing this, you could find him sketching, hiking or hanging with family and friends, enjoying a Blues, Cardinals or KU game. Michael's light shone brightly in all he did and will forever be missed.

Those left behind to miss Michael include his loving mother, Judi Bira; loving parents, Greg and Suzanne Bira; his brothers (and sisters-in-law,) Kyle (Robin) Bira, Joshua Bira, Stephen (Kaitlyn) Amburn, and Robert Bira; his nephews and nieces, Bennett and Owen Bira, Abigail and Madison Amburn, and Kora Bira; his grandmas, Mary Ann Bira and Kay Kelpe; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
