He is survived by three children, Courtney Barnhart of Minnesota, Lindsey Barnhart of Troy, MO, and Stephen Barnhart of Silex, MO; one sister, Laurie Viviano and husband, Lou of Wentzville; other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bryan Barnhart.

Gregory Dean “Barney” Barnhart was born in 1966 in St. Louis; the son of the late William R. Barnhart and his wife, Barbara Lee Fowler Barnhart. Barney, as most people knew him, grew up on a farm in New Melle, MO, drinking the well water and loving it. Barney considered New Melle home, even though he didn’t live there anymore. He graduated from Francis Howell High School in 1985. He was a carpenter and a member of the St. Louis Carpenter’s Union.

Barney was an avid golfer, hunter, fishermen who generally loved the outdoors.  Barney will be dearly missed by his children, family, and all who loved him.

Visitation: Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 2 to 7 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, 1545 Wentzville Pkwy, Wentzville, MO. 

Funeral: Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 7 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home following the visitation.
